A new, comprehensive living environment for Saint-Joseph Boulevard

Brigil has received approval from the City of Gatineau to begin demolition and excavation at 714, Boulevard Saint-Joseph. The outdated buildings will be replaced by a major project featuring approximately 230 rental apartments, helping to address the housing shortage that has affected the region for several years.

An example of human-scale urban densification, the new development will be located in an established neighborhood along a street that serves as a commercial, residential, and cultural hub. Future residents will have quick access to essential services and will benefit from the existing public transit network, reducing reliance on personal vehicles.

“At Brigil, we aim for ‘happy densification,’ meaning the creation of new living environments that integrate public transit, green spaces, retail, and social diversity,” explains Jessy Desjardins, Vice-President, Development and Design at Brigil. “This approach helps limit urban sprawl and its economic and environmental impacts.”

Guided by this philosophy, Brigil recently completed Le Columbia, which opened on September 1. This 20-story residential tower at 388, Boulevard Saint-Joseph offers 235 high-end rental units, much to the delight of nearby local businesses.
