Getting Back to Nature
Located just north of Highway 417, the Kanata Lakes area is particularly appealing to lovers of pristine nature. As its name suggests, the area is home to several lakes, notably within the South March Natural Reserve along the Terry Fox Drive.
The Kanata neighborhood, west of downtown Ottawa, has experienced significant economic and demographic growth over the past 20 years. Driven by the arrival of high-tech companies, many Francophone families have made it their home. The area borders the Greenbelt, a protected zone that still serves as a buffer between Kanata and the city center—a natural setting that surrounds this gem.
Nature and Culture
Kanata Lakes offers both the manicured greens of the Kanata Golf & Country Club and the lush, untouched woodlands of the surrounding area. Residential developers have sought to preserve the “garden city” character that marked the area’s growth in the 1960s.
Living in Kanata Lakes doesn’t mean giving up modern conveniences. Signature Shopping Centre and Kanata Centrum are nearby, along with numerous restaurants, shops, and service businesses. Canadian Tire Centre draws hockey and entertainment enthusiasts, while Queensway Carleton Hospital and various clinics provide a reassuring health presence close at hand. In such a setting, any residential developer must fully embrace a green philosophy in their projects.
Brigil Naturally
Brigil has naturally integrated into this environment, as the developer has long championed similar values: densification to reduce urban sprawl, creation of green spaces, and underground parking to reduce heat islands, among others.
The Kanata Lakes project is both close to nature and conveniently near essential services, while remaining comfortably removed from the bustle of downtown. The community consists of five quiet, intimate four-story buildings. Rooftop terraces, elevators, multi-purpose rooms, larger-than-average balconies for almost every unit, a fitness center, and two levels of indoor parking for residents complete the amenities.
Tenant Beulah Dwyer praises the community: “I was drawn to Kanata Lakes because of the beauty of the area and its proximity to shops, restaurants, and hiking trails. I decided to rent here, and I really love my space and the comfort and serenity it provides. The staff has been friendly and helpful in every way, and I’m very happy I made the decision to call this place home.”
With the return of warmer weather, why not reconnect with nature?
