Gilles Desjardins takes action to help tornado victims!

Sensitive to the experiences lived by families, Gilles Desjardins is taking action through several meaningful initiatives to support those affected by the tornadoes.

The tornadoes of September 21 severely damaged many buildings in the region, leaving numerous families in distress just weeks before winter. Aware of the situation faced by these disaster victims, Gilles Desjardins decided to step in through a series of concrete actions to help affected families quickly regain housing and dignified living conditions.

Gilles Desjardins called on the generosity of his business partners to carry out a fundraising campaign totaling $200,000, half of which will be fully covered by Brigil. With this amount, he hopes to increase by 40% the funds raised through the Radio-Don organized by radio station 104.7 FM.

Several rental units available at Brigil properties will be reserved as a priority for disaster victims, who will benefit from a significant advantage: the first three months of rent will be offered free of charge to help ease their financial burden caused by the circumstances.

In addition, ten inventory units will also be offered for purchase under preferential conditions, with a 10% discount, up to a maximum of $30,000.

The President and Founder of Brigil has entrusted the coordination of these various initiatives to the Canadian Red Cross. He stated: “The Red Cross is best positioned to manage the situation. Being on the ground, it knows the victims and their needs and will know exactly how to best distribute the donations among the affected families.”

Gilles Desjardins congratulates the City of Gatineau, Hydro-Québec, the Red Cross, various regional organizations, firefighters, health services, as well as all volunteers and the public for their excellent support of the victims.
