Brigil announces start of construction for new Dollard-des-Ormeaux project
Brigil is pleased to announce the beginning of construction for its new residential development in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, located at 210 Papineau Street in the Hull sector. The first phase involves the strategic deconstruction of existing buildings. This approach allows Brigil to reuse, recover, and recycle construction materials, diverting nearly 25% of waste from landfills.
The new rental community will feature 110 apartments across 10 floors, with a rooftop terrace and indoor parking. With 20 three-bedroom units, proximity to primary and secondary schools, and easy access to public transit, Dollard-des-Ormeaux will appeal to young families seeking to settle in this vibrant and growing neighborhood.
"The revitalization of downtown Gatineau is a shared responsibility," says Gilles Desjardins, founder and president of Brigil. "This urban core must become a living community, not just a destination, and that means welcoming new residents and young families."
Brigil is proud to begin construction on land acquired in co-ownership in 2014 and fully purchased in 2018. The project aligns with the downtown area’s specific urban planning guidelines (PPU centre-ville) and will significantly reduce its environmental footprint.
Key sustainable features include:
Construction is expected to be completed in 2025.
